County Renews State of Local Emergency
The Municipality of the County of Annapolis has renewed the State of Local Emergency originally declared to support management of the ongoing West Dalhousie wildfires, which continue to burn out of control.
“This wildfire continues to be a significant challenge for our communities, and our top priority remains the safety and wellbeing of our residents,” said Warden Diane Le Blanc. “Renewing the state of local emergency ensures we have the tools and authority to act quickly to protect people, property, and essential services.”
A State of Local Emergency remains in effect for a period of seven (7) days unless renewed or terminated sooner. During this time, residents are required to follow all official instructions from emergency officials.
The Municipality continues to work closely with provincial partners, fire services, the Emergency Management Office, and local community organizations to coordinate response and support efforts.
For wildfire and evacuation support information, call 1-833-806-1515; staffed daily 11 a.m.–7 p.m.
“Our communities have shown incredible strength and compassion throughout this emergency,” said Warden Le Blanc. “Thank you for your patience, cooperation, and for caring for one another during this difficult time.”
