Annapolis County Fibre Optic Build Update

We have some good news in a time of uncertainty: the fibre optic build to bring reliable, fast and secure internet to our residents is about to begin!

"There were obstacles to navigate in bringing this project to reality, but the Municipality has never wavered in its intention," stated County Warden Timothy Habinski. “Our mandate was clear: to bring the best possible internet connectivity to our residents, particularly in areas that have been so under-served. We are delighted to see the physical build underway, and intend to proceed rapidly, to bring residents this essential service upon which so much of our productivity, education, health, and quality of life depend."

Residents of Annapolis County will see crews installing strand (the support wire to which the fibre optic cable connects) to power poles in preparation of the installation of fibre.

Bringing the stability of a fibre optic network to County residents is even more important as our current climate is changing; people are working from home, students are continuing their studies online, families are connecting through social media, all in an effort to keep everyone safe.

Future information will be made available when service crews begin connecting fibre–optic internet in your area.

Please be mindful of the crews out on the road…stay safe…stay home.
