Facility and Parks Labourer

The County of Annapolis is currently seeking a Facility and Parks Labourer to join our team! The Facility and Parks Labourer is responsible for the day-to-day operation, maintenance and care of the arena, pool and parks within the Town of Bridgetown. This role includes ice making and maintenance, janitorial and minor facility repairs, operation of ice-making and building maintenance equipment and setup and take down for recreation program and events. Reporting to the Lead Hand and Manager of Municipal Operations, this position supports arena operations on a seasonal basis and plays a key role in ensuring facilities are safe, clean and welcoming for public use.

The Facility and Parks Labourer shall be a member of CUPE Local 4549.

Qualifications:

Candidates for this position must possess as a minimum, Grade 12 education, first aid/CPR and a valid class 5 Nova Scotia Driver’s licence as well as 2 years related experience in ice making, janitorial and facilities maintenance. Previous experience in a municipal, government setting would be considered an asset. Candidates will hold or be willing to obtain: Pool Operator certification, Second Class Refrigeration Plant Operator certification or Playground Inspector certification.
