TERM EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

Bylaw Enforcement / Animal Control Officer / Pound Keeper

The Municipality of the County of Annapolis is inviting applications for the position of a Six (6) Month Term Bylaw Enforcement / Animal Control Officer / Pound Keeper in Protective Services.

Duties: To provide Bylaw Enforcement / Animal Control duties as well as pound duties. Need to be available to respond to emergency call outs and rotating weekend work as necessary.

Qualifications: Grade 12 or equivalent, basic training in law enforcement and/or experience as a guard, bylaw officer or special constable. Experience working with animals of all temperaments, strong interpersonal communication/computer skills and valid Nova Scotia Driver’s License. Submission of Vulnerable Sector Check, Child Abuse Registry Check, and Driver’s Abstract will be required as a condition of employment. Candidate must also meet eligibility requirements for appointment as a Special Constable under the Nova Scotia Police Act.
