City Nature Challenge - Annapolis County - CANCELLED

Please be advised, Annapolis County’s City Nature Challenge scheduled for April 26th at Old Mill Trail has been cancelled due the public health concerns surrounding the pandemic and Covid-19. In response to the pandemic, Hike NS will not be supporting any hikes throughout March and April. Instead, people are being encouraged to turn this into an individual challenge and learn more about the iNaturalist app which will help participants identify unique flora and fauna in their own backyards, as well as local parks and trails. People can sign up to the iNaturalist app any time by visiting  https://inaturalist.ca/. Let’s work together connecting people to nature.

Annapolis County Recreation is teaming up with HikeNS and Clean Annapolis River Project (CARP) to bring the City Nature Challenge to our region. This is a nature hiking bioblitz event that will see you identifying trees, plants, and exploring the riverside trail.

Participants will learn about nature while observing the flora and fauna in the area. We will introduce the iNaturalist app and other interesting tools to explore nature.

This is a flat wheelchair accessible trail that is approx. 800m in length and suitable to all ages.
