As the "new normal" starts to take shape we are seeing our favourite local events or festivals start to make a comeback thanks to the hard work of local volunteers. These individuals are an important part of your community. They coach your child’s team and direct community theatre;  they respond to fires, look for missing persons, and keep us safe; they spearhead community events and development initiatives; the list goes on and on. It is their endless dedication and community support is a critical component in Nova Scotia’s outstanding quality of living.

We also ask that a picture of your volunteer be included, if possible.

All nominated volunteers will be recognized locally at a future celebration to be held in the fall. Additionally, a selection committee will choose one volunteer from all the nominations to receive a provincial volunteer award at a reception hosted by the Province. (Date TBA).

Each year, as we celebrate our volunteers, our primary purpose is to thank and honour people who donate their time to help others. Let's make sure to recognize these individuals for their kindness and community spirit.
