Waste Update 

Effective Thursday, September 13, 2018

  • Green carts will be emptied by waste collectors on your regular garbage day – once dumped don’t use it
  • Leave green carts in a safe location at or near roadside for pick up by Valley Waste – once dumped don’t use it
  • All residents should continue to place compost roadside in compostable bags on collection day
  • All waste should be placed roadside by 7 am on regular collection day
  • New green carts are in transit and distribution will commence as soon as possible

Fall Clean Up

There will be no change in the Fall Clean up schedule.  
County of Annapolis residents will receive fall pick on their regular garbage day
during the week of 
September 17-28th 
except the Community of Bridgetown’s fall pick up date is October 4, 2018.

Port George Country Jamboree (pg 24) - SaturdayJuly 29th, 8 am - 8 pm, Port George Regional Recreation Centre (12256 Shore Rd.);

This is an all-day event sponsored by the Middeton, Kingston, Lawrencetown Lions Clubs and the community of Port George. There will be a delicious breakfast in the morning, over 200 flea market rental tables, music all day by local talent, delicious foods - such as fish and chips, lobster rolls, burgers, strawberry shortcake and much more. Bring a lawn chair. A full-course dinner will be held at the Recreation Centre in the evening. 

Mount Hanley School House Museum (Pg 55) - This building, registered as a provincial heritage property in 1995, provides a glimpse into long past school days when children sat in seats with cast iron legs and used slates to copy lessons. Browse through school books and admire memorabilia and artifacts collected and preserved for over 150 years. Please be advised, there is no phone available at the museum.
